Insulationfor Anchorage.Spray foam, cellulose, and air sealing — done for Alaska winters.

We work on the whole envelope: attic batts, blown cellulose, spray foam to the rim joist, and the slow careful air sealing that keeps the heat where you paid to put it.

No. 01 · The Envelope, four zones01 / 04

The envelope,
layer by layer.

Zone 01 · R-49 to R-60
The attic

First place the heat leaves. We add depth, level the existing batts, and seal every penetration before the new cellulose is blown.

  • §01Blown cellulose to R-60 (Anchorage code minimum: R-49)
  • §02Attic-hatch insulated and weatherstripped
  • §03All can-light penetrations IC-rated and sealed
→ next: the wall cavity
The attic — R-49 to R-60
Zone 02 · R-21 to R-23
The wall cavity

Where new construction and remodels meet the cold. Closed-cell foam for moisture-prone walls, dense-packed cellulose for retrofit, batts when the cavity is open and clean.

  • §01Closed-cell spray foam for bathroom and exterior walls
  • §02Dense-packed cellulose retrofit through 2″ ports
  • §03R-23 mineral wool batts for sound and fire separation
→ next: the rim joist
The wall cavity — R-21 to R-23
Zone 03 · R-19+ air-sealed
The rim joist

The seam between the slab and the floor framing. Single biggest air leak in most Anchorage homes. We seal it with two inches of closed-cell foam, every house, every time.

  • §012″ closed-cell foam — air barrier + thermal in one pass
  • §02Every penetration sealed before foam is applied
  • §03Vapor open above grade, vapor closed below
→ next: the crawlspace
The rim joist — R-19+ air-sealed
Zone 04 · Encapsulated · R-19 walls
The crawlspace

Conditioned crawlspaces beat vented crawlspaces in a Zone 7/8 climate. We line the floor, foam the walls, and seal the vents — the space becomes part of the heated home.

  • §0110-mil vapor barrier, sealed to footings
  • §02R-19 closed-cell foam on the perimeter walls
  • §03Sealed vents, conditioned air at low CFM
→ next: the crawlspace

Six things we do.

We work the building envelope and nothing else. If it's outside this index — drywall repair, sheetrock taping, framing — we'll refer you to the right trade on the same phone call.

No. 01 · A note about the work

We insulate one envelope at a time. Every can light sealed before the cellulose goes in. Every rim joist foamed before the framing is closed up. The job is finished when the blower door reads quiet, not when the truck has somewhere else to be.

What we measure
Pre- and post-blower-door CFM50, R-value depth, air-change-per-hour delta.
What we leave behind
Written scope, R-value verification, photo record of every cavity sealed.
What we won't do
Recommend foam where cellulose would do. Skip an air-sealing pass to save time.
